Tone-On-Tone Sympathy card
Taylored Expressions does LIVE videos every Tuesday and Thursday on FB and YouTube. This past Thursday Susan made some gorgeous cards using the newest #TEgratitudeChallenge sketch. While my card isn't exact to that sketch (photo below), I was inspired to make these two little beauties.
I started by doing some tone-on-tone with Sprinkles card stock and on one panel I used Sugar Cube ink and the other I used Salt Water Taffy ink. The background stamp I used is called 'Both Ways'. It's one of my favorites and is unfortunately retired, but you can use any background stamp that works for your design.
I ink blended 2 plane sugar cube panels with a very light hand using Salt Water Taffy ink then used one of the feather stamps from the Taylored Expressions 'The Thing With Feathers' stamp set and using Salt Water Taffy & Sprinkles inks I created a 'marble' effect. Next I applied VersaMark Watermark ink then heat embossed the feathers with clear embossing powder. And finally I used the 'Stitched Oval Stacklets' to cut the feather panels.
I had the sentiments in my stash and they come from the 'Sincere Sentiments' stamp and die set. I also had some of the sugar cube strips in my stash that I used the Easy Strips 1/2" Stitched die to cut them.
NOTE: On days when I'm not feeling too creative, I just cut some strips using scraps and ink & emboss sentiments. That way I've got those ready at a moments notice.
Thanks for stopping by! I truly appreciate your interest and support. xoxo Deby 💕
