Peachy-Pink Poppies w/ a Bookmark
As with most of my projects, they continue to morph as I go along and usually turn out so much different than I originally imagined. That was no different with this card using the TE Poppy Fields layering stencils. It was already pretty before I added green to the stems but it just needed some brightening up so I grabbed the TE Strawberry Milkshake ink pad and WOW!!! Look at what highlighting and detailing can do to your project! Adding that brighter shade of pink really gave these poppies some life, don't you agree?
When I went to assemble this card I knew I wanted some thin frames and layers but when I laid it all out, I felt it needed a rough edge on that large piece so grabbed the TE Frayed Edge Rectangle Stacklets and think that along with the precise inside panels worked out really well. And of course, it needed a cute little satin bow on the top!
And finally when I was done with the card I had a nice sized piece of the stenciled panel left over that was just screaming "Bookmark" to me so did just that. I trimmed up the sides then ran it through my laminator then put a grommet at the top, made a quick tassel and now I have a fun gift to accompany the pretty little Birthday card! How cute is that!?!
Hope you enjoyed watching along as I made this pretty pairing and I'll bet you'll be thinking about bookmarks with your next piece of stenciled scraps! 😉
Thanks for stopping by!
xoxo, Deby 💕
