Today's Featured Card is . . .

Lifting a friend up with a handmade card and a thoughtful message.

I needed to create a card for someone who is experiencing a hardship so decided to give the Splash Of Color stamps a more subtle feel than the fun and whimsical look we usually see with these stamps.

I think creating this background with a monochromatic look was perfect for how I wanted this card to represent my thoughts. This design and color choice give it a calming effect that helps portray the message.

To add a bit more softness and balance I decided to use a piece of toffee cardstock for the focal piece that sits front and center on the card.

When it came to decorating the main panel I knew I either wanted a silhouette or floral image so toyed with the Rooting For You set and it was exactly the look I was going for then to continue the feel of the card I chose earth tone inks for those florals.

For this photo I included the My True Colors card to display the ink and card stock colors I chose. I've also included the sentiment set used as well as have featured the Mini Slim Diagonal Stitched Stacklet used to create texture on the toffee piece.

This card only took me about 30 minutes to create so the next time you get a gut-feel that someone needs to know you care, don't hesitate to grab some of your stamps and dies and put something together for them. I know they'll appreciate it and you'll make a huge impact that'll last a lifetime.
