Sandy Shores cards from the recent Sun-Kissed Summertime release from Taylored Expressions.
Today I'm showing how I achieved my 'realistic' look in the water as well as the sand using the new Sandy Shores background stamp as you can see on these two cards.
First I chose coordinating inks for the depth of color I wanted. On my Gnome card I wanted a lighter sand and water then on the Kite card I wanted them a little darker. I used the same technique but went heavier with the darker ink on the one card panel.
Here's a close-up look of the water stamping. I swirled the ink pad onto the stamp then dabbed a paper towel to pull some of that ink off. I repeated that until I had achieved the look I was going for.
I did the exact technique using paper towel dabbing with the sand colored inks. Here's a close up of one of the finished backgrounds as well as the inks I used for the water and sand.
And there you have it! A fun way to give your sand and water more texture and appeal to the eye!
