Hahaha Just a little Play On Words for today's project.
Taylored Expressions is releasing a bunch of Teal Tools to adorn your Craft Room today! I was lucky enough to purchase most of them at Stamp Joy in Des Moines, Iowa last month and am loving all of them and hope you will too! More details on that at the bottom of this blog post. For now, let me share my project with you.
I used the new Swatch Out stencil (see below) to showcase the inks, card stock and blending I used on my card. I also show an embossing powder and foil on the Ink-spiration card so I can remember exactly what products I used because at some point I'll wonder how I created this card and what colors of inks and card stock I used.
I first started with the Fineline Leaf background stamp and heat embossed it with the beautiful Champagne Embossing powder onto a piece of Oatmilk card stock. That panel is so pretty it would make a gorgeous background just as it is, but today is about ink blending.
Next I started blending the card panel with Pineapple ink; making my way up about half-way on the card panel.
Next I grabbed my Honey ink pad and blended over the Pineapple ink; leaving only the upper corner for the next color.
And finally I blended the upper corner with Pumpkin ink overlaying on top of the Honey.
Next I smoothed the transition areas of inks using my blending brushes and only using the ink that was left on my brushes. See the difference that makes? It really brings those inks together! Then I wiped the panel off with a cloth to brighten that embossing up again.
Next I grabbed the Mosaic Beech Leaf dies and cut them out of a piece of card stock covered in gold foil as well as cut a piece out of vellum and Dijon card stock. I further enhanced the leaves blending the Dijon card stock with the Dijon ink.
Now it's time to assemble the card using sentiment strips on Honey card stock and heat embossed with Champagne embossing powder.
Didn't that turn out so pretty? I just love those colors and how well they play together!
If you like to create Ink-spiration cards for your projects, be sure to grab one of the Swatch-Out stencils now available at the TE store. And don't forget to go check out all the new Teal Tools just added to the TE store too! I promise you'll want most or all of them!
And for a limited time, you'll get Special Pricing on Simple Storage pieces so now's the time to think about organizing that Craft Room!
I hope I've inspired you to grab some inks and blending brushes and have some fun creating a few backgrounds. Some days that's all I do ... just create backgrounds to get my creative juices flowing again. And the days I grab a previously created background is a time saver and makes for a Good Day!
Thanks for stopping by today! Have a terrific day!
xoxo, Deby 💕
